Car Chase Leads to Bus Crash



In New York, a car chase ended when the car crashed into a school bus in Buffalo. The bus had children on board shortly after 1pm after the school had an early dismissal.

BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) A car crashed into a school bus at Louisiana and Perry Streets in Buffalo Wednesday afternoon, shortly after 1p.m. The bus was carrying children from the Harvey Austin School that had an early dismissal.

As a result of the crash, one child on board the bus was reportedly taken to Women and Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

There is no word on the condition of the bus driver, however witnesses on the scene say he was taken away by ambulance.

The car that crashed into the bus at a high rate of speed was apparently being chased by Lackawanna Police.

Ski Coaches Injured in Crash



Four Swiss Alpine ski coaches have been injured in a car crash in Northern Sweden which occurred on Wednesday. The accident was caused by a mini van that collided with the coaches’ truck.

STOCKHOLM (AP) — Four Swiss Alpine ski coaches, including former Olympic medalist Steve Locher, were injured when their minivan crashed into a truck in northern Sweden on Wednesday, officials said.

The Swedish Ski Association said Locher suffered fractures to his pelvis and neck, but didn’t injure any nerves. He has been moved to a specialist clinic in Uppsala, central Sweden to undergo surgery.

Coach Curdin Fasser was treated at Umea University Hospital for a minor cerebral hemorrhage, a fractured thigh and blood in his lungs, the ski association said.

Caretaker of Pope Dies in Accident



A woman who helps the Pope with day-to-day operations has been killed in a car accident. She was hit by a car and later died from the injuries that were inflicted.

VATICAN – One of the four lay people who organize the day-to-day life of Pope Benedict XVI and keep him company in his free time has died in a road accident, the Vatican said Wednesday.

Manuela Camagni, a member of the “Memores Domini” (Mindful of the Lord) association, died of her injuries after being knocked down by a car in Rome, Vatican spokesman Ciro Benedettini said.

The 56-year-old from Cesena in northern Italy had been part of Benedict’s entourage since the beginning of his pontificate in 2005.

The “Memores Domini” are made up of members of the Communion and Liberation movement (CL), who follow a vocation of total dedication to God.

Bus Crash Injures Students



A two-bus crash in Las Vegas, NV, has sent three students to the hospital. The collision took place on Nov. 5 and involved two separate school buses and car. Of the students, one suffered a broken back and broken ankle.

Las Vegas, NV– A two-school bus and car collision sent three teenagers to the hospital on Friday, November 5, 2010. One bus driver was cited for the three-vehicle accident, which took place around 6:45 a.m. at N. Alpine Ridge Way and Launch Pad Ave., just a few blocks from Centennial High School in the northwest, as reported by 8 News Now.
